Monday Morning in Boston

Since I'm the "Convention Coordinator" I get to handhold our delegates. It's fun at times (cause I get to know some important political people better) and other times its annoying (cause some delegates are a pain in the ass).

As we walked into the FleetCenter, I had an immense sense of pride and was overwhelmed by everything I saw. Thousands of people, fellow Democrats, were as excited as I were to be there. American flags donned the walls we passed by as we explored the FleetCenter. One of the best moments of the night was when I entered space where I could see everything- the podium, the news booths, and the other delegations. Not knowing what to expect, Megan and I got to the convention at 4pm--and left around midnight.

It was SO cool to walk the floor. I had only seen conventions on TV and now I was a part of it.

Best speech of the night: President Bill Clinton. His cadence, words, and one-liners were awesome. He captivated the whole audience the whole time. I kept saying to Megan, "God, he's an awesome speaker." Read the whole speech. Most speakers have a hard time ending speeches, but read what Clinton said:

Since we’re all in the same boat, let us chose as the captain of our ship a brave good man who knows how to steer a vessel though troubled waters to the calm seas and clear skies of our more perfect union. We know our mission. Let us join as one and say in a loud, clear voice: Send John Kerry.

You forgot about you "directing" traffic out of the Fleet Center that night. Remember, we were waiting for the Utah delegates when you ended up giving directions to EVERYONE. I have pictures!
