November 2nd

Last night, I planned on voting at 7am because I was so excited. Because Brian and I always go vote together, he was strongly opposed to that and we ended up going at 8:30am. It was SO exciting to cast my first vote for John Kerry. Here's a picture of me with my first presidential ballot!

Everytime I've voted (twice before) I've always been very excited--I think the trend will continue until I die. I was reading a blog the other day and it said when people vote, they have as much power as the President or a millionaire. I really liked that statement. Here's a picture of Brian and I after we voted!

Afterwards, I was invited to have breakfast with Jim Gonzales and company. When I arrived, there was a table set for about 30 people. I was glad to be invited to be around such "exclusive" company. ;) Megan didn't show up because she was doing campaign stuff, but Ann was there and we had a good time talking.

I wanted to help Megan after breakfast, but my organization communication class was calling me. Most morning, I ignore the call and go 10 minutes before class ends so I can sign the roll. Unfortunately, I've missed 4 classes already (the maximum amount you can miss before it affects your grade) and couldn't afford to miss another one. I sat in class wondering why I was there, signed the roll, and left.

Megan wanted help poll watching so I told her I would skip my 2nd class. I thought I would be doing work and actually helping, but I found myself just being a useless body. I wish I'd gone to my second class, but Megan sounded very urgent in needing my help. I'll go in next Tuesday and have the professor give me a one-on-one lesson. It's actually good because I want to get to know him better so he can write me a law school recommendation. Here's Adam, Megan and Dina doing something:

Megan was headquartered in Jim Gonzales' office, so that's where we were all day. I occasionally got a chance to surf the internet and exit polls posted on blogs were looking good for Kerry. I was so excited!! Here's picture of Megan doing work on the computer:

We also went and put up campaign signs. Here's a picture of Megan doing one sign!

We got lunch at the DCCC office and then headed back to Jim's office. I had to go with Adam to a polling location where the judges were being mean and wouldn't let Dina's volunteer look at the list of people who've already voted. We stayed there for about an hour then left because voters kept coming and coming, preventing us from looking at the book.

Right now I'm waiting for Adam to pick me up. We're going to the downtown Marriott to celebrate our wins! Hopefully, it will be many.

Well, gee, thanks. I am glad you felt so useless. Next time, I won't include you.
