Josh & Jed & Jesse

I had a great time last night hanging out with Josh Moon and his boyfriend Jed. On Sunday night, I called Josh and invited he and Jed over to watch a movie and have dessert. They couldn't make it, so I told them that we should hang out Monday night.

One of my most favorite things is to go out with couples because I like to watch how they interact with one another. (Maybe it's the two-for-one deal of being friends with couples). Last night was no exception and I enjoyed myself immensely. I called Josh after work (around 6pm) and left a message for him to call me back. I went home and watched the first episode of West Wing which I had never seen. Bravo airs old episodes at 5pm and I record them on my DVR. I'm excited because the series is starting again since I started watching the show in it's 3rd season. Anyway...

Josh called me back and asked if I was hungry. Since I finished part of Brian's burrito grande from Sunday, I had to say no. I did say that I would go eat with them and enjoy their company. After 2 phone calls deciding where we were going to eat, we ended up at the California Pizza Kitchen at the Gateway mall. It was the first time I met Josh's boyfriend, Jed. Even though I don't know them really well, I can tell they are good people and I really enjoyed being with them.

After dinner, we didn't know what to do. Jed suggested we rent a movie and watch it; I reluctantly agreed. As I was driving to my house, I realized that I really didn't want to watch a movie because movies are dumb when you are trying to get to know new people. All you do is sit on your butt interacting with characters, not the people you are actually with. I called Josh and suggested that they just come over and we could possibly play a board game or something. I really didn't want them to spend any money by renting a video game.

As we chatted at my house, I missed Brian. It's really nice to hang out with couples, especially the kind that love each other and show it. We played Halo, talked about lots of stuff, and ate apple pie. I love evenings where people just sit around a table and talk, learning things about each other. I love when people come together in honest dialogue and interest in each other to become better friends.

I hope Josh and Jed become great friends because they are a fun couple. I love double dating, and in gayland, loving couples that have been together for a long time are hard to find. My parents always had couple friends that they did everything with, including going on a cruise. I really want to find a "best friend" couple to do things with because then no one feels left out like single people do when hanging out with couples. Josh and Jed are really cool guys, nerdy like Brian and I, and are cute together--I mean, who wants to hang out with an ugly couple? =) I'm only kidding.

One of my favorite things to do is to get ready to leave someplace but the people who you are with just keep talking and talking and you end up leaving later than you planned on. It's usually a sign that people are enjoying themselves. Jed and Josh got up to leave but we ended up talking for another 10 minutes. I hope I see them again soon.

After they left, I really missed Brian. I knew Josh and Jed would go to bed cuddling and I would alone in my house with the heater turned off freezing my butt off... and I did (it saves money to leave it off).
