The Price is Right!
After worrying about my law school recommendation letters, I decided gather all my courage and ask Professor Judkins, my intro to International Relations instructor, about getting a letter from him. I'm such a wimp. I shouldn't be intimidated by authority, but I always find myself becoming a different person when I have to deal with it. If I could recommend anything to a college freshman, I would tell them to get to know their professors. I've breezed through school, but now I find myself scrambling to find professors who might remember my face and my oh-so intelligent comments made during class. Professor Judkins said he'd be happy to write one if I came in to see him so he could get to know me better. I really like him and his class--I'm about to graduate and now I find out that I love studying international relations. I'm a nerd.
Tonight, my friend from the legislature, Melissa Ransom (now Gonzolas) invited me to a Train concert at the Delta Center that was part of Novell's technology week. She works in their sales department and from what she tells me, kicks butt! I hadn't seen her in a very long time so it was extremely nice of her to call me out of the blue and invite me. She said I should also bring Megan, so we both went.
By the way, I'm a pig. When I got home from work, I had a whole box of Mac & Cheese (like over 1,000 calories and who knows how many fat grams). At the Novell thing, I again ate, getting myself a plate of chicken and some other stuff that I can't remember. I love eating--I wish I could stop. =)
While the Train concert was kind of lame, they had this awesome replica of the Price is Right set and a corresponding Plinko game. My camera crapped out for the Plinko picture, but I did get a picture of me spinning the wheel. I'm such a nerd.
As Megan and I were walking out of the building, she noticed these flower pots filled with beautiful flowers and she told me she wanted a sunflower. Instead of just taking one flower, I decided that I could take the whole arrangement. They were going to throw them away anyway (the vase is plastic) and I wanted to give the precious flowers a better life. Megan thought it was funny, but I thought of my Mom as I was doing it. She's the kind of person that does whatever she wants, not caring what other people think. She has the mindset that until someone says no, she can do anything she wants. Here's a picture of me with my flowers!
