Dorks stick Together

One of my favorite things to do is to play board games with friends (especially with wine), so I was delighted when some of my co-workers invited me to play with them tonight. They told me they were playing Dungeons and Dragons and I told them I would come. I'm trying to expand my circle of friends this summer because I feel like I hang out with the same people over and over and over again. While that can be fun, I want to "expand my horizons."

I actually had a lot of fun hanging out with my co-workers and it reinforced the fact that I work with a bunch of dorks. If you've never played D&D (as people call it), it's basically playing pretend as a grown up.

Update: I read Russell's comment and have to respond. I did not enjoy D&D because it was dumb. I hate RPG's (except for Fable) because they are slow and the fighting with points thing drives me nuts. Will I ever play D&D again? No. I will watch reality TV.

Here's a picture of two of my favorite co-workers. It's all the proof I need for my name-calling.

Bert and James.

Wow. Dungeons & Dragons. Wow.

That's really all I can say.

Really.

It is not stupid! It just takes some getting used to. And there are a lot of rules to learn. And you need to have a good person in charge. And you have to like everybody else playing. And you have to like your Character.

It's a lot of work, but once you have those things, it's sooo much fun. I can teach you, you know, if you wanted.

I suck incredibly at RPGs. I have zero patients for them. I guess I am just a child of the MTV Generation. Just never had been my thang I guess.
