Effort vs. Results
I'm the type of person that appreciates effort rather results, so whenever Brian tries to do something nice or thoughtful, I love it! Brian had the day off today and I was excited that we were going to be able to do something tonight. When I called Brian at about noon, I asked him what we were going to do and he replied, "I don't know. What do you want to do?" I sighed and told him that I would see him tonight.
I sometimes feel that everything is always up to me in many instances in my life. Especially with Brian, I initiate a lot of action. You can imagine my delight when I got home and Brian said, "If you want to do something, we have to leave right now." I smiled with glee, changed my clothes, and we left to go to wherever Brian was taking me. We parked at the Gateway Mall and ran to the IMAX theatre.
Unfortunately, we missed the start of the show and they wouldn't let us get in. I admit I was disappointed that we couldn't see the film, but it was Brian's effort that made me smile and think of what a wonderful guy he really is. He was mad that we missed it, but I told him that it didn't matter if we made it or not--it really was the thought that counted.
We instead rented Hostage and spent the night in. Brian made his really good chicken and we just cuddled on the couch.
