Fun Day Revival

When Brian and I started dating, we did something called "Fun Day." It's an all day date, executed by surprise, and is always a lot of fun. There is only one rule for fun day: Everything that happens is fun.

On the first fun day I planned, Brian brought me flowers. It was so nice and thoughtful of him (especially since we had only been dating for about one month). Also on that first fun day, he spilled diet coke all over my car--but obeying the first rule of fun day, the mess was fun to clean up!

The "tradition" survived for a couple of months, then we both got busy and modified it to a "Fun Day(te)", a mini-version of Fun Day. After a few of those, we stopped doing them.

One of my summer goals was to revive Fun Day, so today we did just that and had a great time!

I let Brian sleep in and I made French toast and eggs for breakfast for him. We went to see "The Island" at 11:30am and he really liked it. Matinee movies are awesome and The Island was our kind of movie (very entertaining).

The best part came after we ate lunch at Sonic. I had $100 in coupons for a spa (www.skin-works.com) that I purchased for only $24. Brian got a pedicure (I told him to apologize to the person because he has hobbit feed), I got a manicure (my first one and I wasn't very impressed), and we both got European facials. I loved my facial! I actually fell asleep because I was so relaxed and I highly recommend them to anyone.

We ate at Chili's for dinner and then went to see a play called "Saturday's Voyeur." Two years ago, our sides split because it was so funny. To this day, I haven't laughed as hard as I did that night. Tonight, we left during intermission because it sucked. It really sucked. I wasted my money.

I love Brian because he's a lot of fun and he made today a great day. I hope we don't let the Fun Day tradition die.
