No Dinner and New Job

I was excited when Brian sent me a text message inviting me to dinner with him and his friend Eric. Then he sent me a text message apologizing because it was actually a dinner related to work. Brian sent 2 apology text messages, an apology voicemail, and finally got online and IM'd me an apology. I told him that it wasn't a big deal, but when I got home he apologized again. I thought it was quite cute.

Instead, I went to a barbecue (actually, a grill) up in the mountains with Tanya, Tanner, and their friend James. I had a fun time with them, but they helped me realize that I like the intellectual quality that my good friends have. Tanner is a really fun guy and I enjoy hanging out with him because I always have a good time. However, I wouldn't want to have an intellectual discussion about something with him. Megan and Scott can be really fun and I can have conversations with them.

When I got back home, Brian told me he had good news and bad news. The good news was "that's I'll be making more money." The bad news is that "I quit my job."

Good News: Brian will be making about $12,000 more than he does now.
Bad News: Brian will be working at a kiosk in a mall.

Brian's district manager at Gamecrazy recruited his favorite managers to help him start a business of putting Sprint kiosks in malls. When he explained all of this to me, I asked him, "So you will be one of those annoying people who bothers me in the mall that I have to lie to and say, 'I already have your service' ?" Brian laughed and said yes.

It took me a minute to comprehend what he said. I actually didn't think it was a big deal--I hated Brian's old job because he traveled a lot, had terrible hours, and worked holidays. I'm looking forward to seeing how his new job treats me.

We then went to see "Four Brothers" at the Gateway. Although the movie started at 10:00pm (my bedtime), I still went. I wish I hadn't because I didn't get to bed until 1:45am.
