Yay for Halloween
Since I spent most of my weekend doing things related to Halloween, I decided that I didn't need to go out.
Instead, I went to the Guadalupe school to teach English to Spanish-speaking immigrants. It was really awesome because the students I taught were all from El Salvador.
When I first started volunteering at the Guadalupe school, they already knew a bit of English so it was easy for me to communicate with them. The group I had tonight didn't know any English; I had a very difficult time teaching them concepts.
My friend Leah also teaches on Monday night. She speaks Spanish so well and is an amazing teacher. I can't wait to come back from Mexico and be able to better help these students.
I'm also glad I came tonight because lots of the teachers skipped out tonight. They really appreciated that I "sacrificed" my Halloween for them.
