Abortion

I just finished a very eye-opening article on abortion. I was literally disgusted by some of the comments that some of these women made. This is the one that really made me sick:

The last patient of the day, a 32-year-old college student named Stephanie, has had four abortions in the last 12 years. She keeps forgetting to take her birth control pills. Abortion "is a bummer," she says, "but no big stress."

I think abortion is morally wrong and have no respect for women who have "cosmetic" abortions. There are instances where abortion in a necessary evil like rape, incest, fatal birth defects, or when having the child would threaten the life of the mother.

But women who "forget" to use birth control (pills, condoms, etc.) and want an abortion repulse me. If someone has consensual sex, they are responsible for the consequences. If you create a baby, the guy and girl have a responsibility to either give it up for adoption or raise it. Anything less and only God can forgive you.

I believe the government has a responsibility to place some burden on irresponsible individuals who want an abortion, but I think it shouldn't be illegal in the first 9 weeks when the fetus isn't developed.

First of all, those women who view abortion as merely a "bummer" are an anomaly.

Second, abortion is a personal choice made by a woman. You have never had an unwanted pregnancy, and you certainly aren't a woman. So it bothers me that you find it appropriate to chime in with your "moral" take on an issue that does not affect you directly.

It is disturbing that a woman might "forget" to take her birth control pills or neglect to use a condom, but sadly not everyone is as perfect as you.

I am glad that you are against abortion. But you should also be against being homosexual. God is against perversions of every kind. It is not clean and pure Search the scriptures and search your heart. The lord can help you get on the right path of God if you strive for truth and goodness. You will feel better about your life!!I am not judging you as a person you seem like a great guy! you are handsome too! Why don't you like girls? Alot of girls would like you! Who taught you that it is ok, to be homosexual, I want you to know it is a lie! someone has lied to you! You were not born that way, that is a lie too!!!! I don't want you to think that I hate you as a person, because i don't i just know there are many deceptions in this world. Don't let these lies pull you down. Read the bible and get prepared for Christ to come back. It is getting closer. I hope you don't mind me telling you this I am not saying this to you out of hate. I wish you a happy life.

First of all, let me just say that I do not know you but stumbled upon your blog randomly. As a mother of an absolutely breathtaking 3 month old baby boy, let me just tell you that abortion for me was never an option. I am a single mother. My fiancee died when I was three months pregnant. Never did I think that terminating my pregnancy was viable.
That being said, I do not think its anyone's place to tell a woman what to do with her body- not mine and certainly not yours. Not only are you a man, but you are a gay man. Unless you start sleeping with women, you will never know what it's like to create a child. You will never know the fear of creating life. Don't you dare underestimate the power of that fear. And don't you dare judge someone on the choices they make when facing that down.
Above and beyond all that, I think that it is sad that you bought into the propaganda probably put out by some far right wing conservative party. As a homosexual man, you should know better than believe everything you read.
Finally, as far as abortion being an abomination, I would choke on those words, if I were you. Perhaps you've never read Sodom and Gomorrah, but the last time I checked, homosexuality was considered a perversion of Christianity. And I'm absolutely positive you face down that challenge in your everyday life. Reading your post makes me sad that you fail to realize that everyone has different challenges. It is in my opinion that no human should ever feel the need to judge another for anything less than the content of their character. However, if you do feel the need to play God, then atleast be educated enough to represent him accurately.
