"Is it weird or is it stupid?"

Brian picked me up from work and we went to Burger King. As we were eating, he told me about his Aunt Janet and the family drama caused because she's a Jehovah's Witness.

I said that Jehovah's Witnesses have to be the weirdest religion out there, but Brian countered my declaration by saying that Scientology was the weirdest. I responded by saying that while Scientology is definitely the weirder of the two, Jehovah's Witnesses are stupid. They can't celebrate anything! He said Scientology is stupid, but I said there is a difference between weird and stupid.

Most religions are weird, including Christianity:

• A bush was on fire, but didn't burn, and it talked to a guy.
• A guy gathered all the animals on the earth and put them on a boat.
  
• God made a donkey talk.
• God came to earth to have sex with a virgin Jew girl.
• After Jesus made tables and chairs until he was 30, he announced to everyone that he was the son of God.

I think Scientology gets a bad wrap because it is a minority religion. Yes, Xenu and evil psychiatry and tying people to volcanoes and DC-8 space planes are all weird weird, but lots of other religions are weird too.

Jehovah's Witnesses, however, are stupid because they don't celebrate anything. Their actions affect other people (like Brian's family). Even on Valentine's Day, the Scientology kid in your class will bring candy while the Jehovah's Witness will stay home.
