Mormon Jesse Comes Back...

I usually teach English to Spanish speaking immigrants on Monday night, but I cancelled because Brian wanted me to go to dinner with him and his parents.

On the way up to Roy, I made some phone calls to get the telephone number for my friend Chris Fierro. His birthday was on November 6th and I wanted to wish him a happy birthday, but I didn't have a current telephone number for him.

I called my first resource, Chris Hathaway. He didn't have the number, so he told me to call his house in Texas and talk to his parents. I mentioned to Chris that I hoped I got his mom on the phone instead of his dad. I say that because his dad is the Stake President, my old Stake President, and I think it would be weird to talk to him.

I dialed the number and hoped for Sister Hathaway to pick up. After a number of rings, a man answered the phone. It was President Hathaway. I told him it was me and asked if he could look up the number for Chris Fierro's parents. It was mostly silence on the phone, but I tried to make conversation. After he gave me the phone number, I thanked him and said, "Say hi to your lovely wife for me."

When I hung up, Brian started laughing and repeated the phrase, "Say hi to your lovely wife for me." He told me I sounded really fake; I responded by telling him that it was a little weird since he was my old Stake President and now he knows I'm gay. Brian thought I was being dumb.

I called Sister Fierro and was totally comfortable with her. She reminds me alot of my mom and I enjoy talking to her. She gave me Chris' number.

Unfortunately, the number she gave me was busy when I called it. I'll have to try again tomorrow.
