Negotiation with my Professor
My globalization senior seminar class is structured like this: lectures for most of the semester followed by a test, then individual presentations about our research papers.
Today in class, my professor explained that after our class presentations, there would a test on the presentations. He said that the exam mainly served as a reason for students to come to class.
I raised my hand and asked if we didn't have to take the test if we had perfect attendance. He looked at me and then asked, "Do you want to go to law school?" I was negotiating terms so the class wouldn't have to take an "attendance" exam. He laughed and said he would think about it.
I was proud of myself for asking him to remove the "attendance" exam. I wasn't going to ask because I didn't want to look dumb, but people told me they were glad that I asked.
