Penguins are intelligently evolutionary.

When I got home from work, I plopped myself in front of the computer expecting to do homework. Instead, I edited some of Russell's video until about 9:30pm. Scott and Megan called me and wanted to know if I wanted to see March of the Penguins. Since I've really wanted to see the movie for awhile, I obviously said yes.

Brian met me at the dollar theatre. Eric came too.

The movie made me think about the evolution vs. intelligent design debate. I don't believe that the penguins behavior is a product of evolution. To me, only intelligent design can explain what they do.

I also think that only evolution should be taught in school because it is science; intelligent design is not. I don't believe that you can prove that God exists and that's how it's supposed to be. I think teaching intelligent design in school is an affront to God's plan of accepting Him by faith alone.

Evolution is not the only theory, but that does not mean that unscientific and unsupportable theories should be included in the curriculum. If we go there, the Pandora's box will open and we'll have to teach lots of other unscientific theories.

God is supreme and He created everything good on the earth. If parents want their kids to know that, I think they should teach it to them at home.

Just like sex. ;)

Hey
Just scanning random blogs and came across yours...sounds like you have grown up in a diverse family (with a lot of religous beliefs). Just wanted to share a point of view from someone else:
Do you not think that "evolution" is as much a religion as anything else? Creation Sceince (a step up from ID) has the same facts that evolutionists have. The only difference between the group is how the evidence is interpreted. Evolution was invented for the sole purpose of explaining the universe to leave God out of it, so therefore one might not be responsible for his or her actions. No accountability. I know you have said nothing about this issue (from what I have read in your posts), but thought if you are interested enough in the debate over evolution and ID, then you might appreciate antother view.
There are a ton of great articles on this issue on answersingenesis.org
happy reading!
