The Pit Bull in me

Class presentations started today in my globalization class. After each presentation, one person is assigned to start the class discussion on the topic. I was assigned to the first presentation which revolved around the effects of cultural globalization in China and Japan.

The presenter talked about how English is making other languages less important and opined that this is a bad thing.

When I asked him questions, I basically grilled him; I questioned whether it was smart for people to not speak the globalized language of English. I also asked him why it was bad that languages were being lost because of the influence of English.

After the discussion was over, people thought I was a little hard on the guy. Even the professor said that I shouldn't have "heckled" (his word) the guy. I felt a little badly because I didn't mean to come across as mean, but one girl told me that I'd be a good lawyer because of how mean I seemed. I thought that was nice.
