Semi-date with Brian
Brian planned for a bunch of people to go see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire this evening and thought it would sell out. Before he left for work at noon, he told me to go buy tickets and I told him I would.
After he left, I thought about it and decided that it wasn't going to sell out. I knew we would be fine if we bought tickets an hour before so I did not get them. When got home and found out, he was a little irritated. He said he would be really angry if it was my fault that we couldn't go to the movie.
We went to the mall early to buy tickets and get something to eat. Brian wanted to go to this Hawaiian place and I didn't want to because I don't like island-type food. But since he really wanted to go, we went and I found something to eat. It was okay, but I don't ever want to go back. I guess I was sort of complaining and it annoyed Brian, so he said, "Jesse, you need to change your attitude."
So I did. We walked around the mall and I was the nicest person ever... and that got on Brian's nerve. I held onto his arm, told him I loved him, and stopped in front of Christmas windows to enjoy the beauty. "Why can't you be yourself instead of Bree Van de Camp." I actually had tons of fun being so incredibly nice.
We walked around Barnes and Nobles for a bit and then went to the movie. Senator Scott McCoy, Utah's gay senator, was there sitting by himself so he came and sat next to Megan. I thought that was pretty funny. I did like the movie, but it was a bit scary for my taste.

Jesse, would you rather be right or have Brian mad at you?
If you bought tickets at once, then an hour before you could have called and asked, "Are tickets sold out yet?" If they were, then you would be wrong but have tickets. If they were not, then you would be right and have tickets. Also, Brian is happy with you.
If you wait and buy tickets an hour before, then they are sold out, you are wrong, and you do not get to see the movie. If they are not, you are right and you get to see the movie.
Plus, Brian is annoyed with you.
Which one of those gives you better odds?
