The Tavernacle
I gave Melissa Simonich, a friend from class, a ride to her dorm yesterday and we decided that we would hang out tonight.
I called her at about 5pm to decide what to do. I wanted to go to dinner, so I suggested that we go to Blue Iguana and then hang out at the Tavernacle.
The Tavernacle is a bar with a dueling piano show. I've never been and have been wanting to go for awhile.
I wasn't going to call Megan because I knew she probably couldn't go with us, but I decided that it's better to be invited and decline than not be invited at all--she told me she couldn't come. Scott didn't come because he was hanging out with Megan.
I picked up Melissa at 9pm and we went to Blue Iguana. Brian met up with us at 9:20pm. Dinner was lots of fun; Melissa had always wanted to meet Brian and was excited that she got the chance. I've always told Melissa that she'd get along great with Brian and they did. We were talking about evolution vs. intelligent design and both Brian and Melissa thought it should be taught alongside evolution. I laughed when they agreed with each other.
We headed over to the Tavernacle. I wanted to be "fashionably" late so we got there around 10:30pm, but the place was packed! And there were lots of gays there for a straight bar.
I thought dueling piano's were in the classical fashion; instead, they pianists played requests of any song you wanted. I heard lots of oldies and even "Baby Got Back." It was so funny! I had a great time and want to bring a bigger group there one night.
Brian said he had an okay time, but he'd rather play darts than listen to music. I'm still glad he came with us.
