ABBA vs. Venga Boys
Brian needed to make a return to Wal*Mart tonight. When we were there, I saw my ex-boyfriend Tanner. He told us he was about to get off work and was going to a party in Park City. I told him that we were spending out Saturday night at Wal*Mart and then going home to watch a movie.
Then the self-reflection started.
I felt like I was looking at two opposite lifestyles: staying at home or going out to party. I used to go out all the time with my old roommates, but now I stay at home most of the time. I used to have a large group of friends to party with, but now I have a few friends that I always hang out with.
Is one better than the other? I don't know.
When I mentioned to Tanner that I was staying home, he said, "Well, if I had a boyfriend I would be at home too." He's right! I shouldn't even be wondering about whether it's better to stay home or go out. Lifestyles change based on the situation you are in. In eight years, I'll imagine I'll be changing diapers and going to the park alot.
As we walked out of Wal*Mart, I told Russell that the differences between my lifestyle with Brian and Tanner was interesting. He said, "The question you have to ask yourself is 'Am I happy?'"
Yes, I'm happy.
