ADHD

It's official. I do not have ADHD.

I had a feedback session with two psychologists who studied my case. It was interesting to see how they interpreted the data from my tests.

They said that most high-achievers can show signs of ADHD without having it. My stress level this semester has been high and its manifested itself through my inattentiveness, they said, but its not clinical ADHD.

They went over lots of things in my personality profile that showed why I may do certain things. It was a really interesting meeting and I'm glad I went through everything to know whether or not I had ADHD. The psychologists gave me some techniques and strategies to use to be more successful in my studying and concentration.

Confidential to Tom Cruise: You are stupid. They are not trying to take over the world.

You need to keep a close eye on the stress thing. I'm a high achiever who ignored stress for years -- until it finally (and suddenly) caught up with me and literally knocked me down with scary somatic manifestations. Cumulative, chronic stress: Don't let it happen to you.
