Goals for 2006
I'm sitting here on New Years Eve by myself thinking about the past year. 2005 was an up and down one for me; I don't know if one side was more pervasive than the other.
I would say that my biggest accomplishment of the year was keeping it together with Brian when times were hard for us. He was out of town way too much, something I had never experienced before. The next time it happens (like my Mexico trip), we'll be able handle it better.
My biggest failure of the year was how I handled my friendships. I became less close to one best friend because of my inability to communicate effectively with that person. I also did not maintain older friendships because I was "too busy." In 2006, I want to fix one friendship and maintain my other ones. I need to plan ahead to spend time with all the great friends I've made throughout my life.
Here are my Goals for 2006.
- Send a birthday card to every person I care about.
- Spend time with five "old" friends a month rather than my regular group of friends.
- Go on a "Fun Day" with Brian every month that I am in charge of it.
- Start my own business.
- Take the GRE and apply to graduate school.
- Learn Spanish.
- Take EMT training and become a state-certified EMT.
- Pay off all my credit cards.
- Step on a scale and weigh 160 pounds.
- Travel to El Salvador and get to really know the Spanish speaking side of my family.
I hope I can achieve all ten goals.
