Showers, Secrets, Basketball, and Parties

I wrapped presents with Mom this morning. She told me to get ready for the day (since it was 1pm) so I went to take a shower.

When I turned on the water, the tub filled up with the cold water that always comes out of the shower head first. I wasn't going to stand in cold water, so I turned off the water and waited for it to drain. When it didn't drain, I knew there was a problem. It turned out that there was a clump of hair on the drain and I had to clean it up. I almost barfed because it was so gross!

The Postsecret book I got for Russell arrived today. As I was browsing it, Mom looked at one page with the "F" word on it. She became upset and said, "I'm not going to have that in my house." As I tried to explain what Postsecret was about, she didn't want to listen. We started having an argument and she used the worst examples and analogies. After 20 minutes, I told her I was done. My mother eventually forgot about the book.

Before Russell and I came to New York, I was already disappointed because I was going to miss my brother Benjamin's basketball game. Thankfully, the game was cancelled due to snow and it was rescheduled for tonight! I usually don't like watching sports, but when Benjamin plays I really enjoy it. I videotaped most of his game.

Ben is the white player.

After Ben's game, I was forced to go to my parent's church party. It was really weird to not know anyone and yet encounter the frequent, "Hi Jesse!" When I was a member of the Mormon Church, I used to love church parties! I knew most of the adults and enjoyed being around them. The party tonight reminded me of the social aspect of the Mormon church that I miss and probably always will.
